It’s been quite a season for the inaugural Disc Golf World Tour. Director Jussi Meresmaa and his team have pulled out all of the stops for each event. Here’s a quick recap of each of the DGWT Stops:
Stop #1: La Mirada Open. The DGWT is unveiled at the historic La Mirada Course in California. Many players are immediately won over by DGWT’s attention to detail. With a lead of five going into the final round, Paul McBeth doesn’t get going until late, but still manages to win by six strokes over local Bobby Musick and Ricky Wysocki.

Stop #2: Konopiště Open. Amidst the beautiful setting of Konopiště Castle Park in the Czech Republic, Simon Lizotte, Paul McBeth and Karl Johan Nybo found themselves all knotted up at the end of the final round. Lizotte, who hit a big eagle on Hole 17 to stay in it, then emerged as the victor after three playoff holes.

Stop #3: European Open. DGWT stops are becoming known for attracting a crowd and a sizable audience was on hand to watch McBeth dismantle the Beast Course in Nokia, Finland during the final round. Down by five strokes to Ricky Wysocki at the start of the round, McBeth caught fire on Hole 5 and then birdied the next 9 holes, grabbing the lead in the process. Wysocki then tied it back up after Hole 17, but he landed OB twice on the final hole. Meanwhile, McBeth stayed safe and gets the win.

Stop #4: European Masters. The favorite of many disc golfers, The Jarva Disc GolfPark in Stockholm, Sweden, was the site of some intense action at the Euro Masters. Round 2 saw Eagle McMahon beat the course record with a 1075-rated 52. Ricky Wysocki, though, was the one who remained in control after the first two rounds. A charging Paul McBeth took the lead midway through the final round, but Wysocki kept the heat on and ended up winning it in dramatic fashion on the final hole.
