Hot Rounds in Perf. Flight

Several Performance Flight players had hot rounds on Wednesday to start their USDGC week. Leading the way was Jonathan Ray of Memphis, TN, who punished his projected 81 by 16 strokes.

Right behind him is Nick Hanson (-15) followed by Nathaniel Romans (-10); and Scott Reek, last year’s runner up Kevin Tritten and Clayton Nash are at (-9).

Ray was feeling it near the turn, scoring 3’s on holes 8 through 10.

US Women’s Disc Golf Champ Paige Pierce is in the hunt after beating her projected 74 by six strokes. Performance Flight defending champ Taylor Maslowski is also in the running, beating his projected 80 by six strokes.

Thaddaeus Gunther (-1) of Alaska is enjoying his second trip to Rock Hill, S.C., and the USDGC.
“It took me two days (traveling) but it was definitely worth the trip,” said Gunther. Chris Finn of Australia beat his projected 73 by three strokes. He said the highlights of his day were landing inside the island green of Hole 17 and making a 60-foot putt on Hole 5 for a four.

“It’s fantastic to see the course and play the event,” said Finn.
