The ever popular US Amateur Doubles Championship rolls into Rock Hill once again. But instead of concluding the event like it often has, the Winthrop Gold Course will kick things off this year.
Plus this year, the tournament (Oct. 2 – 4), run by the Charlotte Disc Golf Club, has four rounds instead of three.
A required player check in starts things off on Thursday (Oct 1st) beginning at 6 pm at Renaissance Park in Charlotte followed by the players meeting at 8p.m., which is also required.
Then the action will begin early Friday morning at Winthrop in a captain’s choice format. Tee times are already set. Look to the US Dubs PDGA event page to see them.
There will be a players party on Friday at Bonz Smoke and Taphouse (2100 South Blvd, Charlotte) starting at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday play will begin at 8:30 a.m. (shotgun start) with the top 36 teams from the first round playing at Nevin Park in alternate shot format and the bottom 36 teams playing RL Smith in best disc format. Those teams will then switch courses for Saturday’s second round.
The final round on Sunday will be at Renaissance Park in captain’s choice format. Tee times will begin at 7:30 a.m. Look to the US Dubs PDGA event page for tee times Saturday evening.
Volunteers are always needed to spot holes and help elsewhere.
