Two North Carolina teams are tied for the USDGC Doubles lead after playing the first round at the Winthrop Gold Course on Friday.
Standing at -8 and leading by 1 stroke are the Hopkins/Shindledecker team and the Folk/Hooks team. Winds were said to be gusty for the morning rounds.
The contest resumes Saturday at the Camp Canaan Riverbend Gold Course in Rock Hill with a round of Best Disc-Best Score (players from each team play the hole individually, but record the best score for their team).
