Calvin Heimburg’s ninth appearance at Winthrop ended with his first United States title. He birdied the final hole Sunday to finish two ahead of Gannon Buhr and Ricky Wysocki. At Throw Pink, Holyn Handley made par on 18 to secure her second title by one stroke.
Heimburg finishes the job
Heimburg began Sunday four strokes behind Buhr. His seven-under 57 brought him to 23 under for the week and his second PDGA Pro Major title. The lead changed hands more than once before he could claim the trophy.
Hole 10 changed the USDGC race. Heimburg made an eagle two while Buhr took a double-bogey six. In one hole, a two-stroke deficit became a two-stroke lead.
Buhr fought back. His birdie on 17, paired with a Heimburg bogey, put him one ahead heading to 18. Heimburg answered with a birdie on the last. Buhr made a double bogey, and the title belonged to Heimburg.
Wysocki shot 56, eight under par, and finished alongside Buhr at 21 under. Isaac Robinson and Niklas Anttila tied for fourth at 15 under, with Mason Ford sixth at 14 under.

Handley makes it two
Handley started the final round one stroke behind Ohn Scoggins. She shot the best round of the day, a four-under 65, to finish at 18 under and win by one.
Handley made a double bogey on 5 and an eagle on 8. Scoggins’ nine on the par-five 12th gave Handley the lead, but Scoggins kept the pressure on through the finish.
Scoggins birdied the final three holes to finish at 17 under. Handley made par on 18 to stay one ahead.
Eveliina Salonen finished third at 11 under. Henna Blomroos took fourth at two under.
