Buhr and Scoggins Take the Lead

October 9, 2026 · Round Two at Winthrop

Gannon Buhr birdied the final six holes Friday to take a four-stroke lead at the United States Disc Golf Championship. Ohn Scoggins moved into first at the Throw Pink Women’s Disc Golf Championship, where MJ Gager shot the day’s best round to finish just two strokes back.

SIX STRAIGHT TO FINISH

Buhr’s 12-under 51 moved him from a tie for eighth to first at 19 under. He made 13 birdies, with his only bogey coming on Hole 12. From there, he birdied every remaining hole.

Ricky Wysocki and Jake Monn both shot 8-under 55s and share second at 15 under. Anthony Barela and Sullivan Tipton are one stroke behind them, tied for fourth. Bradley Williams is sixth at 13 under.

Eagle McMahon climbed 39 places into a tie for seventh with an 11-under 52. Thursday’s leader, Casey White, shot 66 and is tied for 13th at 8 under. Väinö Mäkelä supplied another highlight with an ace on the 394-foot ninth hole.

SCOGGINS MOVES AHEAD

Scoggins shot a 3-under 66 to reach 13 under overall, one stroke ahead of Holyn Handley. Handley’s 68 included a double bogey on Hole 17. The two exchanged positions at the top, but Gager has made it a much closer race.

Gager made ten birdies in a 7-under 62, the lowest Throw Pink score of the day by three strokes. Even with a double bogey on 12 and a bogey on 17, she moved from a tie for eighth to third at 11 under.

Valerie Mandujano is fourth at 8 under after a 65. Eveliina Salonen and Catrina Allen share fifth at 7 under. The top three will begin Saturday separated by just two strokes.

SATURDAY AT WINTHROP

Two rounds remain. Saturday also brings the Throw Pink Women’s Clinic at Winthrop Meadows at 1:30 p.m., the Putting Championship finals in Championship Village at 6 p.m., and the Athlete Fly Mart at the Fan Hospitality Pavilion at 7 p.m. Dizgo is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the pavilion. Friday’s official weather update called for rain and gusty winds Saturday. Both championships remain on schedule, with no changes announced in that update. Please prepare for wet conditions and follow official USDGC channels for any adjustments.
