There's a lot to keep up with during this year's USDGC. Here is a quick run-down on what you can expect during the 2018 US Championship:
The USDGC has partnered with scoring experts, UDisc Live, to handle the scoring and presentation for the 2018 USDGC. If you have followed events on UDisc Live before, you know that the service, which debuted at the 2016 Vibram Open, brings a new kind of clarity and speed to tournament scoring and statistics. Live Scoring will be updated throughout each of the Championship rounds. Most groups will be covered on a hole-by-hole basis.
Keeping abreast of the event and all its happenings on social media is super easy. We’ll be flooding our Facebook and Instagram accounts for the USDGC and Innova Disc Golf.
You will find an abundance of updated posts, highlight videos, alerts to fresh content and more. The official hashtag for this year's event is #USDGC2018. Rest assured, if anything goes down, our media crew will have it covered. USDGC Instagram. Innova Instagram.
Live video returns to Winthrop Gold for 2018 for the final two rounds of the event. Crews from Fulcrum Media will be filming holes 1, 5, 17, and the tee shot of hole 18 as well as parts of other holes. Most of their attention including , three cameras, will be focused on Hole 17, making that already nerve racking tee shot a little more intense. Watching from the elevated Hole 17 broadcast booth will be commentators Jamie Thomas (of Spin TV) and 2009 World Champion Avery Jenkins, who will lead the live coverage and will be joined by a host of guests including 5-time US Champ Ken Climo. Look for video to begin around 11:30 a.m. (EST) at the Innova YouTube channel and Facebook page
If it's a big event, it's usually covered by Jomez Productions. They'll be on hand again this year to provide front nine and back nine coverage that reveals the entire round of the top cards in a snappy, edited format.
